feathers, glitter and bad taste

cher is the most underestimated artist ever, maybe that's the reason why i love her so much. besides being obviously obsessed with plastic surgery, she's also an amazing popsinger and performer. in norman jewison's "moonstruck" and in george miller's "the witches from eastwick" cher proofs that she's also a pretty good actress. cher is fun, cher is camp and cher has won an academy award.
have a look at my favorite five cher moments and decide for yourself.

5. strong enough

4. the way of love

3. walking in memphis

2. a song for you

jamie, ahoi!

for the september-issue of vogue paris pervy terry richardson shot irish model/actor jamie dornan and natasha poly together.
it's the story of a tough love, in which polly gives the orders. dornan seems to be a really good jarhead and for that reason polly shows him her tits while lip-locking.
i don't mind nudity, but in this case it doesn't make any sense at all. i guess, it was richardson's idea. we all know he likes his female models naked. however, for the story it would have been more reasonable to show jamie dornan in the buff.

brave, beautiful and fabulous

lea t. is the first transsexual model. i'd love to know what the t. stands for. however, it was about time, because fashion is all about diversity.
she's absolutely seductive and has everything a model needs. she posed naked for vogue paris, walked in givenchy’s haute couture show and is the star of givenchy's recent autumn/winter ad campaign. so she is more than just an advertising stunt.
in fact, she was riccardo tisci's personal assistent before she hit the runway and magazines.
i'm in awe. she's stunning and courgeous. read the guardian's article about her here.

playground is danger(m)ous(e)

i don't know why this happened so late, but i have a huge crush on the black keys' new album "brothers". it is a weird mix of blues rock, garage, motown and 60s-soul like marvin gaye, creedence clearwater revival, the white stripes and whatever else fits in that combination. you know what i mean.
"tighten up" is the first single, and it comes along with a funny video that turns out to be a little bloody in the end. its sound is way cleaner than the rest of the record. that is because brian burton aka dj danger mouse produced it.

by the way: this man is a legend. he mixed samples from the beatles' "white album" with vocals from jay z's "the black album". furthermore, he created the legendary "grey album" and with that set new standards regarding mashup music. together with soul/funk/hiphop-singer cee-lo green he founded the project gnarls barkley, their single "crazy" made them worldfamous. after that, dj danger mouse produced the good, the bad and the queen, the supergroup consisting of damon albarn (blur, gorillaz), paul simonon (the clash), tony allen (tony allen) and simon tong (the verve). in 2008, he saved beck from being of no relevance at all with producing "modern guilt". in the same year, dj danger mouse worked with the black keys on their record "attack & release". this year, he collaborated with james mercer, indie-hero and (ex-?)singer of the shins on their very good project broken bells. well. even though this small effort of making something like a biography of dj danger mouse cannot be more than an incomplete draft, you should definitely check out some of this man's work!
