american novelist dennis cooper is a sick bastard.
and in my world, that's a good thing.
gisèle vienne's production of "jerk", based on cooper's novel, is pretty intense. the solo piece with jonathan capdevielle deals with the story of a murderer in prison.
it's an imaginary reconstruction of dean corll's crimes. corll killed over twenty boys in texas during the mid-70s with the help of wayne henley and david brooks.
and it's brooks who tells us the cruel stories of the rapes and murders. in prison, he learns the art of the puppetry, which enables him to face his responsibilities as a partner in crime.
actor capdevielle brilliantly plays the puppets and david brooks at the same time and with him we're stuck on a horrifying emotional rollercoaster.
it's a dark, weird and at the same time poetic play .
you need to see this!

it was carnival in cologne today, and everybody dressed up as colorful as possible. i had to work, so i was missing out on all the fun. thus, my outfit.

oh my god. that's exactly what i want.
i have never been a fan of shakira. to be honest, i am really scared and ashamed of myself for loving her song "did it again", but that video is so sensual and sexy. i can't stop watching it, because that bed play is the fulfillment of my dreams. if i meet a guy who could do that choreography with me in my bed, i'd marry him immediately.

lucky for us, cologne has quite the art scene. right now, the art.fair 21 is taking place, a fair with contemporary art from artists that were born after 1960. we visited the exhibition and brought back lots of pictures. enjoy!

music for cold days

the irrepressibles are unlike anything i have ever heard before. the ten-piece orchestra plays unconventional and beautiful music. it's emotional, different and really good.


i've always had a thing for actor ryan gosling, but as a musician/singer he really got me. together with his buddy zach shields "he rounds up a bunch of instruments, a massive children's choir and makes a concept album about the supernatural" (pitchfork). dead man's bones are morbid, creepy and damn good. i really love their self-titled debut album about heartbroken zombies and werewolves.


and of course there is alphabeat. we just love them and they just can't go wrong. you need to buy or download their second fantastic pop-album "the spell". you should do it right now.
